East of Eden - John Steinbeck Honestly, only reading this because Josh told me I should, so it's low on my priorities list right now, but I would like to return to it eventually. I read some of Steinbeck's work when I was younger and REALLY did not care for it, but revisiting works you shunned at a less mature stage of development is never a bad idea.

Seriously though, "The Pearl" is the worst story ever and no one should ever be forced to read it against their will.
